Norwich Metal groove band Hedra have released the first single ‘Karma in Blood’ from their forthcoming Album Elements.
The song introduces a change in sounds from the band as they delve into the realms of progressive sculptured tones and melody with influences from bands such as Korn, Killswitch Engage, Tool and Opeth amongst many.
“Karma in Blood is a song with 2 meanings, in the band we were intended to be like family from the very start but we somehow lost the vibe along the way when it came to money and accepting opportunities. We could use the reference as ‘blud’ like a clan is where some people find their karma it effects our future not just theirs & we got frustrated with it, we gave them everything and more, a free Van to use & lifts, loans for gear & equipment to use & free concerts etc as friends but still they took and walked forgetting about the family aspect, so we have to move on too & now we released this so we can do that & remind people it’s not fair to treat your people like that!
” On the other side it just hints at sweet revenge, that’s a possibility you know, but the album isn’t all doom and gloom the next single focuses on the importance of realising who you are and why we’re here, that one is called ‘Polaris’ the brightest star, we’re working on that right now and it’s completely different to this one too, but saying that the whole album is going to represent the emotions of a UK population after Brexit, it’s all very powerful stuff & truly heartfelt & I expose myself with embarrassment of my failures over & over!” says Jim Hedra
