about
This was the track which inspired the concept, during the pandemic Jim was visited daily by a Jackdaw whilst on furlough, the bird made it to the local papers for it’s friendly behaviours. “It was quite bizarre, I’d never seen a bird behave in such a friendly manor, he’d come and land on my hand and just look at me, then one day he just disappeared as people started returning to work”.
lyrics
The state of me, I can’t try to be, a force to reckon with, in my eyes,
Turned down the wind, and pulled within, the choke remains in my life
You’re telling me to make it, I’m telling me to break it.
The pale eyes of pending danger
The dark wings exist through time
Don’t feed the Jackdaw, ‘cos it follows you home alone
Don’t be the Jackdaw, ‘cos it bothers you all alone
Clawing, scratching, talons on bedsheets drawing blood
Calling, writhing, feathers are flailing leaving flesh
The bird eyes my fear of nature
The bird flies & leaves me here
Don’t feed the Jackdaw, ‘cos it follows you home alone
Don’t be the Jackdaw, ‘cos it bothers you all alone
I won’t forget you my feathered friend
I won’t forget you left me in the end
And one day the jackdaw was no more
Don’t feed the Jackdaw, ‘cos it follows you home alone
Don’t be the Jackdaw, ‘cos it bothers you all alone
